Fried Chicken Ingredients

  • 500 grams of chicken
  • 1 cup of all-purpose flour
  • salt as required
  • 2 cups vegetable oil
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 2 teaspoon paprika
  • black pepper as required
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon chili sauce

Steps For Making Fried Chicken

Step no 1

The first step included in making this recipe is washing. It is the most important step. Don’t take this step lightly. If you do not wash the chicken properly, it will spoil the flavor. Take a large bowl, fill it with water, and add 1 tablespoon of baking soda and 1 tablespoon of vegetable vinegar. Mix it well and then add chicken to it and leave for ten minutes. You will notice the color of the chicken is changed then after that wash the chicken properly with simple water to remove vinegar and baking soda. The procedure of washing chicken that I am telling you is followed in restaurants.

Step no 2

The second step in making this recipe includes marination. Take a bowl and add buttermilk, garlic powder, salt and pepper, soy sauce, chili sauce, and paprika. Mix them all finely. After mixing them all, add the chicken to it and leave the chicken to marinate for at least 6 hours. If you do a marination for 24 hours, it will make the taste unimaginable. In restaurants, the chicken is marinated for 24 hours. This process is also called milk brineing. This process is important in making the chicken tender, soft and juicy.

Step no 3

The third step in making the perfect American fried chicken includes coating the chicken to give it a crispy texture. Place a big bowl and add all-purpose flour in it. Add salt and pepper, and a little garlic powder too. The garlic powder is optional in it. After combining all the ingredients, add chicken pieces one by one in it and mix them.

After mixing all the chicken pieces to flour place them aside. The making of fried chicken includes 2 coatings. Here we have completed the first coating. For the second coating, we use cold water or eggs. Place a bowl and add cold water to it. Add chicken pieces one by one in water for 10 to 12 seconds.

After the chicken pieces are dipped in water, remove them from the water, add them to the all-purpose flour mixture, and mix them again. Now, the chicken pieces are double-coated and ready to be fried.

Frying the chicken

Deep Frying Chicken

Take a frying pan and heat the oil. For deep frying the chicken use a large pan. I recommend using a thermometer to measure the temperature of the oil before frying. Heat the oil to 340 F before adding the chicken. If you don’t have a thermometer then don’t worry it isn’t a big deal. Just heat the oil for 2 minutes at high flame and then add chicken. The frying process will take 12 to 15 minutes. At the start of frying the flame should be high then after 3 to 4 minutes reduce the flame to medium. After the 15 minutes, your chicken will be done. Don’t overcook the chicken cause it will spoil the taste of the crispy crust. If you feel that the chicken is ready after 10 minutes then remove it from oil.

Step no 7

Fried Chicken with Ketchup
